We're showcasing a gem from the Navajo and Aotearoa Maori Country Rock duo Indigie Femme by giving you their track called Am I Ready.

Based out of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Tash Terry and Elena Higgins have been making music since November of 2006. Indigie Femme, the child of collaboration between the two singer-songwriters, released the song Am I Ready on the album Indian Souvenir in 2010. That year saw many miles for the musical duo who toured both the West Coast of North America as well as much of Australia.

The tour payed off when in 2011 the duo received several awards for their music, including a Native American Music Award (NAMMY), double New Mexican Music Awards (NAMA) and becoming Sacramento Community of Color Diversity honorees.

The band is coming off of a few months of performances, but if you're in the area of Santa Fe in the month of August be sure to catch them at Cowgirl Santa Fe on Saturday, August 18th from 2-5pm, and tweet about it!

The lo-fi, rock/folk sound is an aesthetic that comes to The Wake Singers out of necessity. "We don't have a lot of resources at our disposal [so] we make do with what we got" says the trio of cousins, Doug, Mike and Marty Two Bulls (Oglala Lakota), originally from Red Shirt Table, South Dakota, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. They formed the band while attending art school in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and they sent us a few tracks to check out. They make not be working with much, but we think what they've got is a good thing.  DOWNLOAD: The Wake Singers - "Crazy Eyes"

Hawaiin artist Ginger Dunnill and Mandan Hidatsa Arikara artist Cannupa Hanska Luger together make Glad as KnivesThey're a mix of electronic music, Ginger's sweet, smooth vocals and Cannupa's raps, or, as the band describes their sound, "art trash". Indeed their artistry extends beyond the aural. In addition to music and poetry, they incorporate masked performance into their work, inviting the audience to step onto their side of the veil, to their depiction of the absurd and beautiful. They sent us this track to check out and it's been in our ears ever since.

Identical twins Shawndey Michael and Tawnya Monique Gomez, aka Dey & Nite, were raised in Gallup New Mexico with their Arapaho/Spanish/Mexican family. Their mix of r&b and pop is something they’ve sweetly dubbed “twin pop”, though their influences run the gamut from jazz to classic rock to Motown. Check out this track from their eponymous EP. Hailing from the Navajo Nation, Bloodline is based out of Gallup, New Mexico. They sent us this track from their upcoming album Pure in Pain and we're stoked to learn about this hard working band that has been making music independently since 1998. Bloodline has been building a dedicated fan base in the south west through consistent touring over the years - and now Metal lovers across the Nation are also taking note as the band recently completed their first national tour. It’s great to see hard work pay off in this industry and the band is on the path for continued success – they've signed an artist development deal with DJQ Management and the upcoming album, their first full-length release, was produced by heavy hitting producers Ben Schigel and Tony Gammalo. Keep it up boys. DOWNLOAD: Bloodline - "Sacrifice"
