#FrybreadFriday: Off the Rez Food Truck

seattlemetcom.jpg

There's a new food truck coming to the streets of Seattle, Washington, aimed to fill a gap in the local dining scene.

Off the Rez is set to bring frybread and Indian tacos to the corners of Seattle. According to Off the Rez, Seattle’s Newest Food Truck:

Possible stops include South Lake Union, Thursdays in front of Evo, Saturday mornings on 35th Avenue in Wedgwood, and late nights on Pike Street.

Vittles like pulled pork smoked for ten hours, a bacon burger, and those frybreads and tacos, slathered in homemade jam or chicken chili verde, should prove a welcome way to soak up an evening’s intemperance.

Yum. In the meantime, they're available for catering - find Off the Rez on Facebook for more info.

#PowwowWednesday is here again! I said it last week, but I truly am grateful to everyone who captures so beautifully the images and video out on the powwow trail each week. It's one of my favourite parts of Monday to catch up on all the recaps, recollections and sharing from powwows nationwide.

This week, I'm feelin' Thomas Jay Bruyere's photos from the 26th Annual Seafair Indian Days Powwow that took place in Seattle this past weekend.

The United Indians of All Tribes Foundation holds this annual celebration on the beautiful grounds of Discovery Park, Seattle, Washington and draws an average of 500 dancers, 25 drum groups, and 10,000 spectators.

Thomas captured many of the dancers in motion:

Stunning!
