Manitoba Indigenous music legend Errol Ranville of the C-Weed band will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Aboriginal People's Choice Awards.

Trailblazer Errol Ranville has been a driving force in Manitoba's Indigenous music scene since forming his first band in 1965, and he is still putting in time as a working musician and manager of the rising young country star Ali Fontaine. This year he will be commemorating his achievements as an Indigenous musician at the 2011 Aboriginal People's Choice Music Awards held in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Free Press posted an article about Errol and his work stating:

He put a new C-Weed Band together in 1998 and has kept it going ever since, with a new greatest hits album released last year. He has also helped develop the aboriginal music program for Manitoba Music, helped found Manito Ahbee and the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards and was inducted into the Aboriginal Hall of Fame in 2005. He continues to run the talent showcase, Manitoba Star Attractions.
